Hello xmanifest, I'm not sure yet why the PDF is linking to a dead page; as both of the direct links for that restaurant seem to be working just fine.
We've had a few reports in the past that were similar to this. Which were caused by word-wrapping - example: Cut link: http://1069.DeliveryCheckout.com/direct/delivery/Dr Full link: http://1069.DeliveryCheckout.com/direct/delivery/DragonflyCafeGardens
I see that you posted the full link above, so that does not seem to be the cause here; however, since the link on your PDF guide -IS- wrapping quite a bit, I would suggest switching to a two column format.
This can be done from the http://admin.deliverycheckout.com site under "Menu Guide settings" (you will need to reupload your menus in order to view the change).
Would you make the switch / launch another full menu upload and see if that corrects the problem?
Note: Make sure there are no unresolved errors on the WEB_DB_Check document when you do a full menu upload
Your engine is currently set to ignore the regular extract times, so it should process within 10 minutes.

I have also just seen, Again!, that all the logos for the restaurants have been removed and replaced with one of our restaurant logo (Taj Indian Cuisine) So I have removed all logos from the restaurants.
Can someone let me know if you are working on this or should we just move on assuming this won't work right. |

None of these links that you posted are "dead". They are all showing the menu PDF menu.
If the logos are still moving around on you, then you are working on a machine that has not been patched to at least the final build of 7.1.3. (We had to cheat and use the same build number twice for 7.1.3).
It's because you have restricted file access on your workstation, and DMS can't get overwrite a temp file that is used for logo manipulation in the database.
Re-patch your copy of DMS from the web, and your logo issue will be solved. Since we put out the fix, no other issues have surfaced from the other three RDS's that were having this problem.

Hello xManifestx, In regards to the "dead links", try this:
1. Login to https://admin.deliverycheckout.com 2. Go to "Menu Guide Settings" 3. Change the "number of columns" from three to two 4. Reupload your menus - check the PDF guides
This should resolve most of the issues with the "dead links", as this is most likely caused by word wrapping on the PDF guides.
Give it a try, and I'll check back in on this tomorrow.

I would like to try that but the username and password is forgotten. I requested a few weeks back if someone can reset it.
They are not dead anymore but were when I posted this message. I also did a upload after I posted this and that may have fixed it?
Both machines are running 7.1.3.0, as for restricted file access Jim is the one who assist the install on the new server and I did see him set some of the file access.
I will re patch them tonight...
I am sure the PDF links will mess up again so I am sure I will be back to this post. If someone can get me my username and password I will go in and change it to 2 column.
I just finished repatching both machines with latest version in which was already on the machines. I put up a few of the logos to see if they will stick. Before they stuck but would go away shortly after. |

Also, let us know if you need assistance with the repatching of 713, and we'll be happy to take care of this for you.
As "Datawedge" already mentioned above, repatching fixed this issue for the other RDS operations that were having the same problem.

Ok, I changed the menus to 2 column.
As far as I know the patching worked just fine. But I may call and get assistance in reinstalling DMS on these server due to it always installing something every shift. |

I checked your site. Your "View Menus" page showed two "blank PDFs" CultureWorks and Brothers. I saw that you are using your own "custom built" View menus page and appear to be building the links to the PDF menus into your html code. This will "break" when you clone a menu and assign it to the restauant (since the MenuID and corresponding PDF link will change). For example, the link you currently have for CultureWorks is: http://menus.deliverycheckout.com/RDSCustomFiles/1069/menus/CultureWorks__r1069m28.pdf
But it should be: http://menus.deliverycheckout.com/RDSCustomFiles/1069/menus/CultureWorks__r1069m31.pdf
Most DMS operations use the DataWedge supplied View Menu link for their web engines, as it will update the link information and PDFs automatically with every menu upload (so you do not have to change your html code). That link is http://1069.deliverycheckout.com/Menus.aspx.
On the DataWedge View Menus link, Brother's is not showing, which leads me to believe that it is not available online in DMS.
We only have two web engine users that do "their own" View Menus page (instead of using the DataWedge view menus link). We did find a problem where, after a menu upload, the PDF is still blank even though the link has not changed. This has to do with how the PDF link is generated. The DataWedge View Menus page handles the link generation, but not these "custom sites". We are working on a "different PDF link" for these operations. In the meantime, the "workaround" is, after a menu upload, bring up the DataWedge view menus page and view each menu. It will now show correctly on your site.

Well I have an issue with our server not communicating regularly with your servers. I am always logging in every night saying that the server had not been able to check for internet orders.
So If I use the "menu" link available to us at our admin site on datawedge they send them through the "ording process" and if someone wants to view the menus before we open the ordering engine is always down because it is not speaking to our server.
How do we resolve this? |
